Young people deserve recognition
I would just like to say that not all young people are like the reputation we see so much of in the news these days.
On Saturday, Aug. 24, I fell down on the road while trying to get my Star and mail in, and cut my face, which bled all over the road and on my clothing and body. Several cars just went around me and didn’t stop, but two young gentlemen on bicycles stopped, put my dog I was still holding by her chain into my house so she wouldn’t get loose and get hit, then helped me to get in the house and sit down, brought me my mail and made me an ice pack with a bag of frozen okra and paper towel around it. I’d like to thank these two young men.
They had my neighbor Larry Shultis check on me later in the day, and Charlotte Santamont, who called me as soon as she got home and came up and got the bleeding stopped and patched me up. All these I thank from the bottom of my heart. God answered a prayer when he sent them to help me.
I wish you’d print this letter so I can publicly thank all who helped me.
