Founding Fathers' intent was muskets

Founding Fathers’

intent was muskets

To illustrate his point, Charlton Heston chose to hold a musket aloft, NOT an AR-17 or other high-powered assault rifle and challenged us to take it from his “cold, dead hand.”

Inasmuch as we are repeatedly told of the “original intent” of the Founding Fathers, shouldn’t it follow that firearms promoted today be of that time, i.e., muskets or muzzle-loading rifles? Muzzle-loading rifles were the technology of that day, just as the “original intent” was the thinking.
