Winchester has earned the people's trust

I have known Teresa Winchester for more than 20 years. During those years, including her 15-year tenure with The Otsego County Conservation Association, I grew to know her as a leader, a public servant and a friend.

Early in my association with Teresa, I learned I could trust her word and her actions to be directed toward community good. Let’s face it, trustworthiness is one of the most critical issues is today’s government. It is an issue whether it involves our so-called “leaders” in Washington, Albany, Otsego County or the town of Morris. Trust in these “leaders” is rightfully near an all-time low. We need people we can trust to represent us at every level of government. How else can we safely move ahead and make progress?

Teresa Winchester has been a passionately dedicated leader in her countywide career with OCCA. Beginning with that experience, she has gained more than 20 years expertise working with Otsego County government and a large variety of service agencies. Through involvement with Otsego County Board and committee meetings, she has become very familiar with how our county government works.

Teresa understands and supports fiscal responsibility. She understands the critical issue of environmental sustainability and has promoted that concept through her leadership in the local anti-fracking movement.

Crucially, we can trust Teresa to represent us in our county government, not some outside industrial, commercial forces. She cares about what will benefit the majority of us ... the citizens of Otsego County.

I trust Teresa Winchester. I trust her with the future of my county and my town. I trust her with the well-being of my children and grandchildren. I trust her with the civic and environmental future of us all.

Who can you trust to that extent?

Dr. Roy Bartoo
