Reject write-in campaign

A former Richfield town supervisor, N. Palevsky, who just lost the Republican primary, now seems to be running a write-in campaign. He is continuing with the same negative drumbeat that he used in the primary. With the recent antics in Washington, do we need more of this approach in our town?

But other than being against his opponent, I have no idea what he’s for. What new ideas, what plans for the future, what are his principles?

I remember his earlier tenure as supervisor, but I can recall nothing to distinguish it by. In fact, he failed to develop a town comprehensive plan, neglected updating town laws, failed to take advantage of state funding for the industrial park, supported some unfortunate selections for town positions, and was always hostile to Baker’s Beach. This is a wonderful town facility that offers public access to the lake for residents who may not have another way to enjoy it.

He is apparently for the wind turbine project, unless, of course, these 50-story monstrosities are near his property. For the project or not, we are getting a raw deal and a bad contract, and Palevsky can’t grasp that. He seems to be for any form of development — responsible or not — and how would he feel if cancerous fracking waste polluted his well?

Fortunately we have other options in the election. Fran Enjem, a successful businessman, is the candidate for supervisor, who with a new board could move the town forward. Paul Palumbo, running for the town board, is a professional engineer and has his own business. Larry Frigault, also for town board, has owned and operated a well-known insurance agency for 20 years. And Bill Seamon, with practical construction experience.

This is the team we need to put in place!
