Teresa Winchester is the better candidate for Otsego County Board Representative of District 2.
Residents of the towns of Butternuts, Pittsfield and Morris should vote for her on Election Day next Tuesday, Nov. 5.
I have attended many Otsego County Board of Representatives meetings over the last two years. The incumbent representative, James Powers, was elected to represent the residents of three towns in Otsego County, but his votes impact the residents of the entire county.
It is my opinion that the incumbent’s consistent “no report” when it comes time for him to give a committee chair report on the status of CSEA negotiations, as well as his statements and votes against sitting down with CSEA to discuss the future of Otsego Manor, were and continue to be a disservice to the residents of Otsego County and the towns of Morris, Pittsfield and Butternuts. I agree with Teresa that with better early planning the decision on the Manor would have been different. I am not a member of CSEA and I do not work for the Manor or have relatives working at the Manor, but I am concerned that the Manor’s future is in question.
It is time for a change, and Teresa Winchester is that needed change. Teresa has experience dealing with the departments of Otsego County through her work with OCCA. Teresa was the executive director for 15 years and was a leader on issues such as agriculture, water quality and alternatives to MOSA. In fact, she received a federal award for her work.
Teresa will well represent the voters of the towns of Morris, Pittsfield and Butternuts with a positive impact on all the residents of Otsego County. Vote Tuesday, and give your vote to Teresa Winchester.
