An appreciated Christmas gift

We received a lovely Christmas present on Christmas Eve when a few devoted patrons helped with our overloaded book return.

Our regular patrons know that during the holidays we often have more books returned than our book return allows. Thanks to the patron who returned other people’s books that were falling out and the person who blocked the opening with a sign stating it was full. The best news is that we have received a donation from a local organization that will fund another book return.

Individual tutorial sessions will be offered between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16. Is there something that you have always wondered how to do with your tablet? Do you need help finding a specific app or do you feel you just can’t find anything? Sign up for an individual  tutorial session to get your questions answered. Can’t make any of these class times? Call to set up an appointment.

Kindle and Kindle App sessons will be offered at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Use your Kindle device or your laptop to check out library books. Your Kindle device must be registered with Amazon. If you are using or would like to use the Kindle app on a mobile device, register for this class.

Non-Kindle classes will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, and an eBooks class for Kindle and Non-Kindle will be offered at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16. This is for users of Nooks, Sony eReaders, mobile devices, and other brands beside Kindle. This class is also for readers that would like to read a book using just an Internet browser, such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. Any Internet Browser capable device will work – smartphone, computer or tablet for Internet browser reading. If you are using a Nook or another eReader device that does not support apps – you will need to bring your own laptop to fully participate. You may still come to learn if you are unable to bring your own laptop. Most smartphones and mobile tablet devices are compatible with the library app.
