Registration under way for children's programs

Registration for the Winter/Spring series of children’s programs is now open. Programs will begin Jan. 8 and continue through June 13. All programs require registration which can be done in person or by calling the library at 432-1980. Information is available at Feel free to call us if you have any questions.

Library Lap Sit

Lap Sit is a reading program for infants from birth to 13 months accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Activities include stories, songs, action rhymes and more. The program is scheduled for Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 9:50.

Tiny Tots

This is a program for children ages 14 to 24 months accompanied by a parent or caregiver. It is scheduled for Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11 a.m. There will be stories, songs and other activities each week.

Toddler Time

This program is for 2- and 3-year-olds accompanied by an adult. It includes stories, songs, crafts and other fun activities. Programs will be held Tuesdays from 9:30 to 10 a.m., Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11 a.m., and Thursdays from 9:30 to 10 and you choose one of these times.

After School, 4-7 Years

Each week children will be reading stories, playing games, singing songs, and making crafts. Children who are 4 to 7 years old will meet on Tuesdays from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. Parents are not required to attend.

Afternoon Adventures

Afternoon Adventures meets on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and is for children ages 8 to 12. During January, the group will read “My Side of the Mountain” by Jean Craighead George followed by a fun craft.


“Mysteries According to Humphrey” by Betty Birney finds Mrs. Brisbane missing from Room 26. Why isn’t she at school instead of the substitute? Humphrey just recently learned about a detective named Sherlock Holmes. He’s going to collect clues like Holmes does and solve the case. Help him figure out the clues.
