“Winter of Snow” is Jenny Milchman’s first novel and takes place in the Adirondack mountains. Nora Hamilton awakens one morning to discover that her husband has committed suicide, shattering her world. There is no note, nothing seemed to be wrong, and he was a stalwart police officer. She forces herself to dig into this mystery and finds road blocks no matter which way she turns. His fellow officers and mother won’t talk to her and the secrets they hold will take effort to uncover in this moving story.

Children’s author David Kirk’s latest book is “Ten Things I Love About You.” Rabbit and Pig are best friends. Rabbit decides to make a list of all the things he loves about his friend, and wants Pig to help him. But, Pig is busy and as the two talk back and forth, Rabbit tries his patience. They suddenly realize why they are such great pals, and children will, too.
