One-on-One Genealogy Research Assistance will also be offered. Call to schedule an appointment by Oct. 25. Sometimes you just hit a road block, sign up for individual genealogy tutorial sessions with Librarian Sarah Livingston. Using book and Internet resources, Sarah will work with you one on one to help you with your genealogical research. Sessions are about an hour long, but can be shorter, depending on your questions.

EBOOKS

Get ready for the holidays. Learn how to check out eBooks and audiobooks from the Library. Perhaps you were given an eReader device for the holidays last year and haven’t yet learned to use it? Well, take advantage of these classes and impress your family with your new skills. To take advantage of our public library eBook collection, all you need is a library card in the Four County Library System. If you have any questions about which class you should be in —  just ask!

Kindle (and Kindle App): Use your Kindle device or your laptop to check out library books. Your device must be registered with Amazon. If you are using the Kindle App on a mobile device, signup for this class. Classes will be offered at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 28 and 31 and Nov. 5, 10 a.m. Oct. 30 and Nov. 1 and 5:30 p.m. Nov. 7.

Non-Kindle: For users of Nooks, Sony eReaders, mobile devices, and other brands beside Kindle. This class is also for readers that would like to read a book using just an Internet browser, such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. Any Internet Browser capable device will work – smartphone, computer or tablet for Internet browser reading. If you are using a Nook or another eReader device that does not support apps – you will need to bring your own laptop to fully participate. You may still come to learn if you are unable to bring your own laptop. Most smartphones and mobile tablet devices are compatible with the app. Classes will be offered 10:30 a.m. Oct. 29 and Nov. 7, 1:30 p.m. Nov. 4 and 6, and 5:30 p.m. Nov.5
