There’s a new feature on the library’s online catalog called “Buy It Now.” The library catalog and Amazon have teamed to provide a means for library patrons to help provide funding for their libraries without any additional cost to the patron or library. If you want to purchase a book or DVD for your personal use, click on the “Buy It Now” option. You will be redirected to a custom Amazon webpage that represents the Four County Library System. You can make your purchase and approximately 4 percent of your purchases will be given to the library system. Everything that you purchase from Amazon for seven days after clicking on the “Buy It Now” button will count toward the library’s 4 percent. So remember us during your holiday shopping.
Visit the Library to see our Display celebrating National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). Featured in the display are books written by local authors. If you’re an aspiring author, NaNoWriMo is a fun approach to creative writing. Starting on November 1, participants began writing a 50,000-word novel that must be completed by Nov. 30. To learn more about how it works go to www.nanowrimo.org/how-it-works.
Deep in the recesses of the Huntington Memorial Library we unearthed some vinyl records that have been played only once. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, vinyl sales were at 16-year high in 2012 with more than $177 million in sales, so if you’re a new to vinyl or are a long-time collector stop by our book sale to buy a record and support the library.
The Library will be closed on Monday in observance of Veterans Day.
