There are quite a few books that hit the nonfiction best-seller list this week, but I’m going to highlight my favorites. “The Opposite of Loneliness” by Marina Keegan is a posthumously-published work by a 22-year-old prodigy. It’s a collection of her essays and stories that prove that she would become a successful writer. It’s a tribute to the college years and demonstrates the hope, uncertainty and the possibility of her generation. And just for fun, read Rob Lowe’s latest book titled “Love Life.” It’s filled with stories of his life and the actors he’s worked with.
Master Fly Tyer Dave Brandt will discuss the history of fly fishing in the Greater Catskill area from 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 19, Catskill Fly Fishing. Come enjoy stories about fishing in the Catskills and learn about fly tyers, fly rods, and all things fly fishing. Dave Brandt teaches fly fishing at the State University College at Oneonta and has been an instructor for the past 28 years at the Wulff Fishing School.
