Huntington Memorial Library reaches out to the community

The Daily Star

---- — So far about 60 people have completed the Impact Survey online and in print form. We are grateful for your participation, especially in this season of giving, but we’re greedy for more!

Please take 10 minutes of your time to provide the library with useful feedback that will shape the library’s technology services as we move forward. Go to the library website,, and click on the survey button to fill out the survey or access it from one of the library’s public access computers. We have paper copies at the library if you prefer a print format. If you complete a survey while in the library, we’ll show our gratitude by giving you a piece of chocolate.

Other ways that the library has begun to reach out to better serve the community is with the eNews service we’ve recently initiated. If you would like to be on the email list to receive notice of programs, events and new services, please visit our website and click on “Subscribe to our eNews.”

Check out our Pinterest site too. We pin interesting articles and images to our Boards which include “Local History,” “Literary Tattoos,” “Admired Authors” and more. Each month we highlight a topic such as “Spoooooky Reads” in October, and “Favorite Book Lists” in December. Follow us and contribute your ideas to the Library.

If you’ve visited the library in recent days, you may have noticed the giant, blue sticky notes on the wall. One is titled “Your Favorite Things at the Library” and the other is “New Things You Would Like to See at the Library.” I invite you to visit and leave your thoughts with us. Your opinion matters and will impact upon how the library evolves to support the community.

The library will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 and Jan. 1. We are open on Dec. 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A local Health Insurance Marketplace Navigator who will help you through the online process of signing up for health insurance will be at the library on Mondays and Thursdays in December. You must call (800) 231-0744 to make an appointment. Oneonta is also home to two Navigators. If you would like individual in their office, please call 432-4500, extension 205. Appointments take about 1½ hours and a Navigator will help you through the process but will not make decisions for you.

Library Hours: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; closed Sunday.
