Weekend Reviews: The funniest ladies of the fall

But Wilson’s fall was undoubtedly saved by her next film, "Pitch Perfect," also starring Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow. The movie follows an all-female a cappella group that tries to revamp its image to win a competition against a boys’ group.

Wilson stars as Amy, or as she calls herself, “Fat Amy” (“So skinny twigs like you don’t do it behind my back”). Throughout the film, Wilson spits one wisecrack after another, adding the comedic relief to the movie, which is also chock-full of great musical numbers.

The next funny lady is actually one that I wrote about last spring. Mindy Kaling, who was on "The Office" and wrote the great memoir "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?" is now starring in her very own sitcom, "The Mindy Project."

The show, broadcast on Fox, centers on a single OB/GYN, played by Kaling, who tries to find love in spite of her unique personality. The show, which is also written by Kaling, is sure to bring a lot of laughs to "Office" fans and newcomers as well.

The newest season of NBC’s wildly popular show "30 Rock" is also set to be its last. As saddening as this news is, I am positive that this season will be as hysterical as every other before it. The season is set to have 13 or 14 episodes and the final episode will run for one hour.

With the show’s end many people have begun to wonder what the show’s star, Tina Fey, will be doing next. While she is set to star in a new dramedy titled "Admission," Fey has not announced any new projects.

The fall season in television and film is sure to be a great time with these women and others leading to way to a good time. Be sure to keep an eye out for these ladies’ next projects, as they will no doubt be just as well done as their current ones.
