Fly Creek teen pleads guilty to burglary
Drug, forgery cases also heard in Otsego
COOPERSTOWN _ In Otsego County
Court on Friday before Judge Brian
Burns, Darby Canfield, 17, of Fly Creek,
pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary.
According to court records, the incident
occurred Nov. 22 in the town of
Hartwick.
Canfield, who is being held in the Otsego
County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, is
due to be sentenced May 30.
Also in court Friday before Burns:
ä Kendale Simon, 18, of Brooklyn,
pleaded guilty and was sentenced to
one year in jail for fifth-degree criminal
possession of a controlled substance, cocaine.
According to court records, the incident
occurred Nov. 9 in the city of
Oneonta.
Simon was ordered to pay a $270 surcharge
and crime victims’ fee, and a $50
DNA fee. He forfeited $108.
ä Daniel Kelsey, 47, of Oneonta, was
sentenced to 2½ years in prison and 1½
years of post-release supervision for
third-degree attempted criminal possession
of a controlled substance, cocaine.
He had pleaded guilty Feb. 8.
According to court records, the incident
occurred Dec. 21 in the city of
Oneonta.
ä Grace M. Forgit, 33, of Oneonta, was
sentenced to one-to-three years in prison
for second-degree forgery.
She had pleaded guilty Feb. 15.
According to court records, the incident
occurred Aug. 31 in the city of
Oneonta.
Forgit also was ordered to pay a $270
surcharge and crime victims’ fee, a $50
DNA fee, and $3,453 in restitution.
ä William A. Price, 50, of Schoharie,
pleaded guilty to second-degree possession
of marijuana.
According to court records, the incident
occurred Sept. 28, 2006, in the town
of Roseboom.
Price was released on his own recognizance
and is scheduled to be sentenced
April 25.
