Man injured in ATV crash

OTEGO _ A 37-year-old Otego-area man was injured in an ATV crash on Upper Green Street late Tuesday night, state police at Oneonta said Thursday.

James Bush lost control of a 2002 Kawasaki four-wheeler and struck a fence, troopers said.

He had multiple addresses, they said, but he is from the Otego area.

Bush, who suffered a head injury, was transported to A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta and then to Albany Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition Thursday night.

Troopers said it is illegal to ride an all-terrain vehicle on a public highway and the crash remains under investigation.

There were two other ATV riders with Bush at the time of the crash, troopers said.

It was not immediately clear if Bush was wearing a helmet, they said.

Bus crashes; children safe

PITTSFIELD _ A Morris Central School District bus carrying about 20 students crashed into a ditch during the morning run Wednesday, state police at Oneonta said.

Bus driver Donna Rowe of Burlington Flats lost control of the bus on a snow-covered curve along Schermerhorn Road at about 7:45 a.m., troopers said.

No students were injured, but an adult on the bus complained of a minor injury, troopers said.

The students were transferred to another bus and continued on to school, troopers said.

Rowe was not ticketed.
