Felony hearing for fatal accident today

The felony hearing for a Norwich teen arrested after a fatal accident on Saturday is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. today in Bainbridge Town Court, said Chenango County District Attorney Joseph McBride.

Trebor Hoxie, 17, of Norwich, was charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter following the accident at about 6 a.m. on state Route 206, troopers said. He was sent to Chenango County jail on $200,000 bail, troopers said.

One of the passengers in the van, Ashley Crisell, 18, of Guilford, was pronounced dead of major head trauma at Wilson Regional Memorial Hospital, troopers said. None of the vehicle's occupants was wearing a seatbelt, troopers said.

The three other injured passengers were also brought to Wilson and were listed in fair condition on Monday, hospital officials said.

On Tuesday, the nursing supervisor said Kathryn McLaughlin, 17, of Mount Upton, was listed in satisfactory condition, Darren Houck, 18, of Norwich, was listed in fair condition and there was no record for Kathryn Card, 17, of Morris. A law enforcement official said Tuesday night that he was not aware of any worsening of the conditions of the survivors.
