June 12, 2008 07:46 am Staff Report A two-vehicle accident occurred in the town of Middlefield on Wednesday after a bee flew into of one of the cars, Otsego deputies said. Jessica L. Biegel, 19, of Westford, was driving north on county Route 33, just north of Brewery Ommegang, with her three sisters, all of Westford, shortly after 4 p.m., deputies said. Biegel said she is allergic to bees, and when a bee flew through an open window, she looked down, trying to get it off, and crossed into oncoming traffic, according to deputies. Six-year-old twins Patricia and Victoria Biegel and 9-year-old Rebecca Biegel were passengers, deputies said. The car struck the vehicle being driven north by Lucinda Jarvis, 55, of Schenevus, deputies said, causing it to overturn and catch fire. Jarvis had tried unsuccessfully to avoid collision by pulling as close as possible to the roadside ditch, deputies said. All were removed and transported to Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, where they were treated and released, a hospital official said. All appeared to have been wearing seat belts, deputies said. Biegel was issued a ticket for failure to keep right, deputies said.
