The finalists for the Stamford Central School superintendent position will meet with groups at the school this week, a school official said.

Ron Whipple is serving on an interim basis. He replaced former Stamford Superintendent Gregory Sanik, who resigned unexpectedly in May while serving as an interim after his replacement, Scott Hartman, resigned in March.

The search is being conducted by former DCMO BOCES District Superintendent Alan Pole, an associate with the educational consulting firm of Castallo & Silky. The salary range is $105,000 to $120,000, Pole previously said.

The board of education interviewed seven candidates in late May, Whipple said. Each finalist will be meeting on with groups that represent a cross-section of the school, including administration, students, teachers, support staff and the community, Whipple said. A candidate could be selected by August.

Finalists visiting are:

Today, Richard Hughes, Delhi Middle School principal; Wednesday, Tonda Dunbar, Gilberstville-Mount Upton Middle School/High School principal; Thursday, Kevin Johnson, Oneonta Middle School principal.
