The Greater Oneonta Historical Society is hosting "Baseball in Rural America: A Community's Story," an exhibit on the history of baseball in Oneonta featuring items from Oneonta Tigers co-owner Sam Nader's collection.

The exhibit explores the role of baseball in rural Oneonta from the barnstorming days of the Babe Ruth All-Stars to the "Mickey Mantle Nite" at Damaschke Field, presenters said.

It will include items from the GOHS collections and will feature objects on loan from Nader.

The exhibit will be at the GOHS History Center at 183 Main St., Oneonta, through September. A preview reception will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday with Nader as a special guest.

Tickets are $30.
