Man, 23, faces crack dealing charges

MIDDLEFIELD _ A Wells Bridge man faces felony drug charges for allegedly selling crack cocaine throughout Otsego County earlier this year.

Bradley J. Romano, 23, was arrested Tuesday by Otsego County sheriff's deputies after he showed up at the probation department for an unrelated matter, according to a media release from deputies.

He was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Romano sold crack Jan. 10 in the village of Morris, Jan. 20 in the town of Pittsfield and March 16 in the town of Oneonta, deputies said.

The Oneonta Police Department detective bureau, the state police CNET unit and the Otsego County Probation Department assisted with the investigation.

Supreme Court Judge Michael Coccoma arraigned Romano on a previously sealed indictment, sending him to Otsego County jail on $25,000 bail. He is to reappear before Coccoma today to continue his arraignment.

Otego woman, 29, arrested for DWI

WEST ONEONTA _ An Otego woman who reported her GMC Jimmy as stolen Friday was arrested later that day after she was found behind the wheel of the sport-utility vehicle, Oneonta town constables said.

Devon R. Sawyer-Beers, 29, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated after the Jimmy was spotted by a constable at about 10:30 p.m. and recognized as the same vehicle reported stolen by Beers at 7:30 p.m., constables said in a media release.

Sawyer-Beers was sent to Otsego County jail on $250 bail to appear in Oneonta Town Court at a later date.

Deputies seek info

HAMDEN _ Delaware deputies investigating a burglary seek information about two motorcycles reported stolen.

The theft from 709 East Brook Road in the town of Hamden involved a yellow-and-blue 1998 Suzuki RM 125W off-road motorcycle and a blue-and-white Yamaha PW80 off-road motorcycle with pink graphic decorations, deputies said Wednesday.

Anyone with information about the burglary or the motorcycles is asked to call deputies at 746-2336.
