July 05, 2008 04:00 am WALTON _ The Walton Booster Club's 25th Annual '50s Revisited Car Cruise and Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Walton. The annual show is being held earlier this year so the fireworks display will coincide with Independence Day weekend, Ken Landry, one of the organizers, said Wednesday. Landry said the show, formerly two days, is a one-day event this year because of concerns that the price of gas might keep people from attending both days. The antique and vintage car show and the all-day flea market begin at 9 a.m., with trophies being presented at 3 p.m. The Antique Automobile Club of America defines "antique" as all cars 25 years or older, while the Classic Car Club of America defines vintage as "formerly a term describing cars built between 1915 and 1925 but now used broadly, especially in England, to include cars manufactured between 1920 and 1942." The award for best cruise car will be awarded at 5 p.m.; cruise cars must be on the grounds at 6 p.m. to line up for the 7 p.m. cruise through the village. There will also be a costume contest, and proper '50s attire is required. Other events include: ä At 9:30 a.m., the Duane Gifford Memorial Truck Pull. ä Starting at 11 a.m., music with disc jockey Kevin Rutherford. Coyote Junction will perform from 3 to 5 p.m. and '50s rock grout The Poni-Tails Band will play from 6 to 10 p.m. ä Also at 11, chicken barbecue and other refreshments will be available. ä From noon to 10 p.m., a midway featuring inflatable children's rides. ä At 10 p.m., the fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. Admission is $2 per person, $5 per show vehicle and $5 car corral.
