City meeting rescheduled

ONEONTA _ The July 16 meeting of the Oneonta Intergovernmental Affairs Committee has been rescheduled to 3:30 p.m. July 23, said its chairwoman, Alderman Maureen Hennessy, in a news release.

The meeting will be held in the mayor's conference room in City Hall on Main Street.

Man arrested on incest charge

LAURENS _ A Laurens man was arrested recently on incest and another felony sex charge.

William Brooks, 68, was arrested June 25 and charged with incest and third-degree criminal sexual act.

The alleged crime involving a victim younger than 17 was reported to state police on June 24.

Brooks was released to appear in court at a later date.

State police had no additional information.

2 teens arrested for felonies

MORRIS _ Two teenagers were arrested last week on felony criminal mischief charges.

Keith W. Mondore, 17, and Michael L. Joy, 16, of Morris, allegedly caused more than $1,500 in damage to a vehicle in the town of Morris, according to state police at Oneonta.

The damage was reported to troopers on Thursday, and the teens were arrested later that day on second-degree criminal mischief charges.

No further information was available from troopers Sunday night.

2 Davenport men arrested

Two Davenport men were arrested June 24 following an investigation by the Otsego deputies, according to a new release.

Charles W. Zimmerman IV, 24, and Michael R. Walters, 22, were each charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, and two counts petit larceny, deputies said. They were arraigned in Maryland Town Court and sent to Otsego county jail on $1,500 bail to reappear July 14, deputies said.
