Business Beat: Hunan Gourmet moves to Ford Avenue

Hunan Gourmet is serving Hunan, Szechuan and Cantonese cuisine at 19 Ford Ave. in downtown Oneonta, and the manager said the location is ``tops.''

The restaurant had been on Main Street in the East End for three or four years, said Fu on ``Frankie'' Poon, manager. Regular customers have been patronizing the downtown site since the move about two months ago, he said, and the location is more accessible for walk-in diners.

The restaurant is owned by his father, Chi Pung Poon, he said, and they can make improvements because they own the building.

Hunan Gourmet, which seats fewer than 50 people, is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 11 p.m. Sundays, Poon said, and the restaurant is closed on Thanksgiving.

SFCU event today

The Sidney Federal Credit Union and the Otsego County Chamber will have a "Business After Hours" event at the SFCU office at 75 Oneida St. in Oneonta from 4:30 to 6 p.m. today.

Guests will be able to tour the facility and find out about SFCU services. Refreshments will be served. For more information or to RSVP, call Shelly Giangrant at 432-4500, ext. 207.
