The annual meeting of the Otsego Electrical Cooperative is scheduled to be held Wednesday at Unadilla Valley Central School in New Berlin, according to Gary Potter, the organization's board chairman.

Dinner, catered by Brooks' House of Bar-B-Q, will be served from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Registration will begin at 7:15 p.m. and the business meeting will begin at 8, Potter said.

The event will combine entertainment with serious discussion of how to contain the cost of electricity through ``load control,'' a practice of reducing usage during periods of peak demand, Potter said.

Three prospective board members, Edward Clarke of Springfield, Charles Arnold of Edmeston and Kathleen Del Plato, are scheduled to take office at the meeting.

Unadilla Valley Central School is served by Otsego Electric, an arrangement that helps restrain its electrical costs, Potter noted.

``We like to have our meetings at facilities we serve,'' he said.

The co-op, which is based in Hartwick, has about 4,500 members, he said, who are served by about 750 miles of electric lines.
