Worcester superintendent finalists to be at meetings

The public is invited to meetings with each of the finalists for the superintendent position at Worcester Central School, according to a news release.

Each of the meetings will be held at 7 p.m.

Oneonta City School District Middle School Principal Kevin Johnson will be at the district Sept. 10.

He has served in his current capacity since 2004. He worked at Oneonta High School beginning in 1989, first as an English teacher and then as associate principal.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Science in English education from the State University College at Oneonta. He lives in Oneonta.

Cooperstown High School Principal Gary Kuch will visit the district Sept. 24. He has been in his current post since 1999. Before that, he served as supervisor of innovative programs and principal for the Otsego Area Occupational Center.

Kuch's background is in school psychology and special education. He has a bachelor's degree in psychology form Skidmore College and a master's degree in school psychology from Alfred University. He lives in Cooperstown.

On Oct. 8, Millbrook High School Principal Jeffrey Matteson will be at WCS. He has been in his current position since 2003. From 1995 to 2000, he served as middle school principal at the Tioga Central School. He also works as an adjunct online facilitator for Indiana Wesleyan University.

Matteson earned his Bachelor of Arts in liberal arts, social sciences, from SUNY Morrisville, his master's degree in educational leadership at Castleton State College in Vermont and his doctorate in organizational leadership from Regent University in Virginia. He lives in Millbrook.
