Offender pleads, gets time in prison

Staff Report

COOPERSTOWN _ A Sidney Center man was sentenced as a sex offender in state Supreme Court in Otsego County on Monday before Judge Michael Coccoma.

Brandon M. Reynolds, 21, was sentenced to two-to-six years in state prison and an order of protection was issued and will be in effect for 11 years.

Reynolds' sentence will run consecutively with his one-to-three year state prison sentence from Delaware County Court.

On Aug. 25, Reynolds pleaded guilty to second-degree rape and was resentenced on a sexual abuse charge. As a 17-year-old, he was given youthful offender status when he was sentenced in 2004 to probation on the first-degree abuse charge. Reynolds admitted violating the terms of his probation, which forbids him from associating with individuals younger than 18.

According to Otsego County Court records, the new rape charge stems from incidents between Feb. 1 and March 23 in the city of Oneonta and involving a person younger than 15.

Court proceedings on Friday, Sept. 12, in front of Judge Brian Burns include:

Denise Borggreen, 41, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to a six-month term in the Otsego County jail, five years of probation, a $1,270 surcharge and a $50 DNA fee.

Douglas McAdams, 48, was sentenced to two-to-six years in state prison for driving while intoxicated. In addition, he was fined $1,000, a $270 surcharge and a $25 DWI surcharge.

Timothy Pirone, 38, pleaded guilty to a superior court information charging DWI, a class E felony. His sentencing will take place Nov. 14.

Michael Rojas, 37, was sentenced to one-to-three years in state prison for DWI. He also was fined $1,500, a $270 surcharge and $25 DWI surcharge.
