In Delaware County Court on Monday, Nathanial P. Stoesser, 21, of Jefferson, pleaded innocent to menacing a police officer, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree possession of a weapon, a loaded firearm.
District Attorney Richard Northrup said Stoesser allegedly pointed a gun at a state police investigator.
Northrup said that according to court records, Stoesser and another man were doing target practice when a state police car pulled up. They ran into the woods at the sight of the police.
During the search for the men, Stoesser allegedly pointed a gun at an investigator who approached him, and ran into the woods again.
Northrup said the gun has not been found.
Stoesser is being held in jail without bail, awaiting sentencing on a third-degree burglary charge in Schoharie County.
