Methadone case heard

COOPERSTOWN _ In Otsego County Court on Nov. 14, before Judge Brian Burns, Andrew C. Scheiner, 21, of Worcester, pleaded innocent at arraignment to a charge of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, methadone.

According to court records, the incident occurred April 13 in the town of Worcester. He was released on his own recognizance to return Dec. 19.

Also in court Nov. 14 before Burns, Timothy Pirone, 38, of the town of Maryland, was sentenced to one year in jail for driving while intoxicated.

According to court records, the incident occurred Jan. 9 in the town of Oneonta, and Pirone pleaded guilty Sept. 12.

In court, he was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, a $270 surcharge and crime victims' fee and a $25 DWI surcharge.

In court on Nov. 13 before acting state Supreme Court Justice Donald Cerio, Andrew R. Feld, 45, of Oneonta, pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal sexual act and two counts of third-degree rape.

According to court records, the incidents occurred in 2007 in the town of Oneonta and involved a girl younger than 17.

Feld was jailed without bail and is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 4.

In state Supreme Court in Otsego County on Nov. 13 before Coccoma, Douglas W. Young, 29, of Cooperstown, pleaded guilty to second-degree assault, an incident that occurred Jan. 21 in the town of Otsego, according to court records.

Young is being held at the Otsego County jail in lieu of $15,000 bail and is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 22.
