BURLINGTON — Marian Edith Williams, 96, died peacefully at her home on Zachow Road in the Town of Burlington on Thursday morning, Oct. 18, 2012.
Marian was born on April 28, 1916, in Lackawanna County, Pa., the daughter of Arthur J. and Madiline Beauman.
She married Victor R. Williams on May 17, 1933, in New Milford, Pa. Marian and Victor moved to the Cooperstown area in 1947, to raise their family and engage in dairy farming. Following Victor’s death in 1984, Marian moved to Zachow Road to be near her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Ron McLean.
Throughout her life she worked on the family farm and also for many years as a nurse’s aide at Bassett Hospital. She particularly enjoyed crocheting, gardening and bowling. She was a member of the Fly Creek United Methodist Church.
Marian is survived by her five children, Natalie (Roy) Hawley of Binghamton, Marlene Bryant of Cooperstown, Victoria (Richard) Kappler of Lometa, Texas, James (Marge) Williams of Winter Park, Fla., and Carol (Ronald) McLean of Hartwick; by 15 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held in the spring in the Fly Creek Valley Cemetery.
