MORRIS — Bernice J. Leonard, 101, of Morris, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Chestnut Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Oneonta.
She was born in Alliance, Ohio, the daughter of Thomas Morris Stanley and Mina (Grove) Stanley.
She was first married to Laverne Johnson. He died in 1945. She was then married to Neil G. Leonard on Feb. 25, 1950, at the United Methodist Church in Montrose, Pa.
She was a mother and homemaker and also assisted her husband, Neil G. Leonard as a licensed real estate salesperson.
She was a past member of the Eastern Star, Butternuts, No. 338 and a member of the United Methodist Church of Walton.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Schriber of Otego; her son, Stanley Leonard and wife Sally of Morris; two stepdaughters, Alicia Pagano of Unadilla and Rita Mott and husband Clifford of Masonville; daughter-in-law, Barbara Johnson of Idaho; her grandchildren, Carl, Carol, Jennifer, Kara, Kristi, Brian, Janice, Daniel, Sherry, Henry, Karen and Michelle; stepgrandchildren, Ronald and Katy; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Neil; her son, Richard Johnson; her sister, Irene Sitzer; her brothers, Howard and Clifford Stanley; and her grandson, David Mott.
Calling hours and funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
