Schoharie County authorities are investigating the death of a 35-year-old Sloansville man whose body was found slumped in his car Sunday morning.
Mark Trendell pulled his car into a driveway Saturday night in the village of Schoharie, and when confronted by the homeowner indicated he was just going to sleep there for the evening, Sheriff Tony Desmond said.
The homeowner noticed the car was still there Sunday morning and found that Trendell — who was unacquainted with the residents of the house — was unresponsive, the sheriff said.
There is no evidence of foul play. The car’s engine was running and the heater was turned up and two windows in the vehicle were rolled down about two inches, the sheriff said.
Schoharie County Coroner Donna McGovern directed that the body be taken to Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, where an autopsy is scheduled to be performed today, he said.
