---- — A hearing for former Walton High School teacher Stephanie Fletcher, accused of having sex with two 16-year-old male students, has been postponed until Feb. 14, officials at the Sidney Town Court said Thursday.
The hearing was “adjourned at the request of the special counsel, with consent of defense counsel,” Sidney Town Justice Steven Rose said.
The special counsel, Michael Breen of Middleburgh, was appointed after Delaware County District Attorney Richard D. Northrup Jr. recused himself from the case without explanation.
Fletcher is being represented by F. Paul Battisti of Battisti, Gartenman & Thayne of Binghamton.
She is charged with two counts of rape in the third degree, which is filed in cases where a defendant older than 21 is accused of having sexual intercourse with someone younger than 17. She also is charged with one count of third-degree criminal sexual act and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
