No one from the public attended a hearing Monday night on Oneonta’s 2014 budget, and the session at City Hall was adjourned in about five minutes.
The $15,314,600 general fund budget for 2014 carries a $4,515,615 tax levy, which is up $69,799 or 1.57 percent. A homeowner with a property assessed at $100,000 would see a city tax bill of $1,432.55, an increase of $24.04.
The Common Council approved the budget at a meeting last week by a vote of 5 to 2, with one council member absent. The council is scheduled to vote on adopting the budget at its Tuesday meeting Tuesday.
