Drivers of two vehicles died Sunday after a motor vehicle crash in the town of Oxford in Chenango County, state police at Norwich said. Eight passengers were taken to hospitals.
David C. Clark, 48, died of unspecified injuries at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, where he had been taken after the accident on county Route 35, troopers said. The other operator’s identity hadn’t been determined, troopers said Sunday night.
A 2000 Ford Focus traveling eastbound crossed over the center line into the westbound lane and into the path of a 2002 Dodge Caravan, which was driven by Clark, said troopers who investigated the crash at about 1:40 a.m.
One passenger from the Ford Focus and six passengers from the Dodge Caravan were taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries, troopers said.
The investigation into the accident continues, troopers said.
