Otsego County was placed under a state of emergency as of 2 p.m. today because of heavy rain and flooding, according to the Otsego County Emergency Management Office.
The alert warned of closed roads and flooding, but did not give specific details. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
Callers to The Daily Star have warned of flooding in West Oneonta at the intersection of state Route 23 and county Route 8; on New Road in Laurens; and on County Highway 5 in Otego; on state Route 205 between Oneonta and Laurens; and on Lower Reservoir Road in the town of Oneonta.
