Roads closed, flooding in Chenango County

Chenango County Emergency Services reports that flash flooding is hitting the southern and eastern portions of the county, where up to 4.5 inches of rain have fallen, and several roads are closed. As of 1:30 p.m., the county reported the following:

  • State Highway 12 is being shut down from Brisben to the county ine in Chenango Forks (Town of Greene)
  • A state of emergency is in effect in the town of Coventry. There is no unnecessary travel in the town as several roads have been washed out.
  • State Highway 206 is closed between Cemetery Road and County Road 17 in the town of Coventry
  • Traffic is being diverted on State Highway 8 in the town of Guilford in multiple locations.
