---- — Funding is available for local economic development projects through the Southern Tier East Regional Planning Development Board.
Workshops scheduled for this week will offer information for local not-for-profits, industrial development agencies, school districts and municipalities to learn more about the 2014 Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Area Development Program. Applications are due to Southern Tier East by Monday July 8, 2013.
Local workshops are scheduled as follows:
9:30 a.m. today: Schoharie County Economic Development Office, Suite 2, 276 Main St., Schoharie.
1 p.m. today: Delaware County Office Building, County Board Room, 111 Main St., Delhi.
1 p.m. Thursday: Otsego County Economic Development Office, 242 Main St., Oneonta.
According to a media release from the board, up to $150,000 is available in matching funds for projects aimed at creating jobs, increasing incomes, developing infrastructure and helping the region to become competitive in the global economy. Additional information is available at www.steny.org.
