Schools to hold votes on projects, purchases

Several area schools have scheduled voting in March on propositions.

On Feb. 4 voters in the Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Central School approved both a bus and vehicle and a school maintenance truck purchase, according to the school’s Facebook page.

Cooperstown Central School has scheduled a March 12 vote on a $6 million capital project. Voters had defeated a $6.6 million proposal in December with a tie vote. The plan was scaled because of recent tax increase in one of the towns in the school district, officials said.

Voting at Morris Central school is scheduled March 6 on a proposal to purchase one 65-passenger and one 29-passenger school bus at a cost not to exceed $168,640.

Margaretville Central School has scheduled a vote March 18 to purchase one school bus at a cost not to exceed $114,
