POUGHKEEPSIE (AP) — The giant floating head isn’t missing anymore.
A Grecian-looking head that adorned a Meredith hillside in 2004 is thought to be the same one that was found April 23 in the Hudson River by a Marist College college rowing team.
Officials at Marist College in Poughkeepsie say the 300-pound Styrofoam and fiberglass replica of a man’s head found floating in the Hudson River was reported missing last week.
But they told the Poughkeepsie Journal that a freshman orientation group discovered it Thursday. It’s back in the water, tethered to a dock.
The Marist men’s crew team originally spotted the object during practice and towed it back to their dock in late April.
