---- — The failure of two area schools to receive a state grant to study the possibility of a merger has put an end to the issue for now, school officials involved said Monday.
Schenevus and Worcester Central schools had applied for the funding last spring.
With the Department of State failing to award the grant last month, members of the Schenevus Board of Education decided “they were not going to move forward at this time,” Superintendent Thomas Jennings said.
Worcester Superintendent William Diamond said with no funding, “there is no plan to go any further at this point.”
