Both public hearings held during Wednesday’s regular town of Oneonta board meeting will be continued at a special board meeting scheduled for March 26 at 7:45 p.m.
There were about 20 people Wednesday at the meeting, which began at about 7:30. Public hearings were scheduled at 7:45 p.m. on the Comprehensive Plan and at 8 p.m. on a local law to prohibit natural gas drilling in the town.
At the start, Supervisor Bob Wood explained that because of the weather, no action would be taken to make sure everyone who wanted to comment would have the opportunity. He said he was also waiting for county recommendations on the proposed drilling ban.
There were few comments during Wednesday’s hearings, and no opposition was expressed.
