---- — Three men were arrested after a fight near Tino’s Pizza at 180 Main St. early Sunday, according to Oneonta police, who said no one was hurt.
Today, police are increasing patrols to monitor St. Patrick’s Day activities at bars downtown and in neighborhoods.
On Sunday, a fight was reported at about 2:20 a.m. by an off-duty officer and involved possibly three separate altercations involving two people each before officers arrived, police said.
A crowd of 30 to 40 people gathered and moved across Main Street toward Dietz Street and impeded traffic briefly, police said.
People gathering outside Tino’s Pizza at that hour isn’t unusual, according to police.
Originally, two men had a verbal altercation and a crowd gathered around, police said. Officers arrived at the scene within seconds after the incident was reported, the crowd responded to police and no Tazers were deployed, police said.
Police charged Bashkim Rugova, 20, of Mahopac, Fatmir Derrishas, 19, of Carmel, and Marquis J. Eley, 23, of Fort Plain, with public fighting.
Rugova, a student at the State University College at Oneonta, was released on recognizance, police said.
Derrishas, also a SUNY Oneonta student, and Eley were held in the lockup until sober, police said.
