A State Police-organized compliance check of local bars on St. Patrick’s Day found only one where an illicit sale of an alcoholic beverage was made to an underaged person working with investigators, troopers reported Thursday.
A bartender at Legend’s Bar & Grill, Chelsea Jordan, 23, of Cobleskill was issued an appearance ticket for unlawful sale of alcohol to a person not yet 21 years of age, police said.
Additional State Liquor Authority charges are pending against the bar, police said.
Troopers said three other establishments “passed” what they described as the “Underage Drinker Initiative,” which utilized three college students and was conducted in conjunction with the State Liquor Authority and the State University at Delhi.
Those establishments were John’s Tavern at 87 Main St., Stamford, Sip ‘N’ Sail Tavern, at 80 Water St., Oneonta, and Red Jug Tavern, 195 Main St., Oneonta.
Police also reported that a patron at Legend’s, Jeremy L. Barker, 41, of East Meredith, was issued an appearance ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana, a non-criminal violation.
