Week in Review: Pipeline to bring local gas service

“It’s a great day for downtown,” said Oneonta Mayor Dick Miller on Wednesday at the start of an open house at the apartments at Klugo’s Parkview Place. About 75 people were on hand Wednesday for the event at 155 Main Street - the former Bresee building.

Also: Michael Hennessy, a stockbroker and former Oneida County legislator, declared Wednesday that he will challenge veteran Assemblyman Bill Magee, D-Nelson in this year’s Democratic primary.

In sports: Jared Suderley is officially a beast in the East. Hartwick College’s all-time leader for points and rebounds earned a First Team spot on the National Association of Basketball Coaches’ Division III All-District Team, the Hawks announced Tuesday.

FRIDAY

The final curtain is near for the regional solid waste authority known as MOSA, and two key committees of Otsego County lawmakers are signaling they want Vermont-based Casella Waste Systems to be its partner in managing trash disposal.

In sports: The National Association of Basketball Coaches selected Hartwick College men’s basketball player Jared Suderley to its Division III All-America Teams on Wednesday.
