An Oxford woman has been charged in connection with the theft of narcotic drugs from a health-care facility, Oneonta police said Friday.

Janice A. Vaugh-Young, 45, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, police said. The police department’s detective bureau in conjunction with the state Department of Health Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement made the arrest, according to a media release.

Vaugh-Young was arraigned in Oneonta City Court and released on recognizance.

The maximum sentence for a conviction of third-degree criminal possession of controlled substance is nine years in prison, the release said.
