Deputies: Pipe was not threat
An investigation into a suspicious pipe on a North Main Street sidewalk in Sherburne determined the pipe was empty and not a threat, Chenango County deputies said.
Deputies and Sherburne police investigated the report of suspicious pipe on a sidewalk in front of a commercial and residential building at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday. People were evacuated from the area, which was cordoned off, deputies said in a media release.
