RICHFIELD SPRINGS CENTRAL SCHOOL
Voting on the Richfield Central School building project will take place from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 16 at the entrance to the baseball field, according to a media release. The $1.2 million project will pay for repair and maintenance of the school roof and related masonry work, Superintendent Barraco said. With state aid of 82.1-percent and funds from the school’s capital reserve fund, there will be no tax increase required if the the work is approved, according to the release.
CHERRY VALLEY-SPRINGFIELD CENTRAL SCHOOL
The Cherry Valley-Springfield School District has selected Richard Rose as its interim superintendent. He will replace current superintendent Robert Miller effective May 11, until a permanent replacement is found, according to a media release. Rose is a retired Canajoharie Central School District superintendent. He served in that position for 23 years with an additional 15 years in the education profession.
The board of education is working with Otsego Northern Catskills BOCES District Superintendent, Nicholas Savin, in coordinating the search process for a permanent replacement. Savin is scheduled to begin screening applicants over the next couple of months with a tentative start date between Sept. 1 and Jan. 1.
