Former student charged with cocaine sale
On Nov. 7, Delaware County sheriff’s deputies arrested Gregory J. Nielsen, 20, of Port Jefferson, on a Delaware County grand jury sealed indictment charging him with two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Nielsen, a former SUNY Delhi student, was accused of selling cocaine in the village of Delhi during February and March, deputies said. Deputies charged Nielsen in March charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance after the execution of a search warrant at his residence that led to the seizure of cocaine, digital scales, marijuana and cash.
This month, Neilsen was arrested when he surrendered at the sheriff’s office, appearing with his attorney. Nielsen was arraigned before County Court Judge Carl F. Becker and was released on recognizance pending further court action.
