Richmondville man charged with burglary

A Richmondville man was arrested on burglary and other charges after state police at Cobleskill investigated a break-in, according to a media release.

Robert H. Wood III, 29, was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, third-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest, misdemeanors, Cobleskill troopers said. He was arraigned in Middleburgh Town court and sent to Schoharie County jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond bail.

Schoharie dispatchers received a 911 call stating that someone had forced his way into a residence on Sheldon Road in the town of Schoharie shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday and was destroying property. The homeowners locked themselves in a room and waited for troopers to arrive, the release said, and Wood was in front of the residence when troopers arrived.
