A Guilford man was accused of felony drunken driving after allegedly fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle Tuesday night, according to state police at Sidney.
Mark E. Meyers, 52, was charged with driving while intoxicated based on two previous convictions in the past 10 years, troopers said in a media report, fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and failure to obey a police officer.
He also was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent, a felony, also reflecting two priors, troopers said.
The arrest resulted from a traffic stop that started on state Route 8 and ended on High Bridge Road in Guilford at about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, troopers said, and Meyers was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle and numerous vehicle and traffic tickets.
He was arraigned in Guilford Town Court and sent to Chenango County jail on $8,000 bail, troopers said.
